The art and science of Chinese herbal medicine stretches back thousands of years. According to historians, the birth of Chinese herbal medicine is attributed to the legendary emperor Shen Nong or 神農(3494 B.C.E). The products presented in here are formulated based on the same classical formulations that have been used across time or have roots directly embedded in the ancient healing of traditional Chinese medicine. They are pre-prepared, manufactured combinations, which in China are referred to as “Cheng yao” or 成藥. Here in the West they are often called “patent medicines”, as their ingredients or manufacturing processes are sometimes considered to be proprietary.
